Next ICC Global Banking Commission Meeting

The next ICC BankingCommission meeting will be held 24 and 25 October.This time the meetingwill be in hybrid format, meaning both in ICC’s headquarters in Paris andonline. The final agenda has not yet been shared, but the new draft Opinions(covered elsewhere in this newsletter) will be discussed.

UK Electronic Trade Documents Act

20 September 2023, the UK Electronic Trade Documents Act (ETDA) enteredinto force. 

The ETDA gives electronic Bills of Exchange, Bills of Ladingand other commercial documents the samelegal footing as paper documents. The legislation is designed to give UKbusinesses and participants in the 60-80% of trade transactions worldwide thatare subject to English law, more flexibility in how they trade.
